Malmö Port is a central part of the city's development and growth. Over the coming years, efforts to develop the port will intensify regarding investments and new establishments. This development will contribute to new job opportunities and, not least, create conditions for the city's important climate transition work.

To the Development Unit of the Property and Street Office, we are now looking for an Engineer to complement the unit's experienced competencies, such as port engineer and port strategist. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the port's development issues and ensure that future objectives are realized.

Responsibilities

In the role of Engineer at Malmö Port, you will work with design, procurement, mass handling issues, and stormwater management, among other things. Furthermore, you will handle environmental permits and location issues, as well as perform economic follow-ups. In the role, you will collaborate with, among others, mass coordinator, lawyer, development engineer, and representatives.

A central part of the position is interacting with external actors and stakeholders, as well as representing the city's interests towards the port operator CMP (Copenhagen Malmö Port AB). Together with the aforementioned operator, you will drive and follow up on investments made in the port and plan for handover to operations. You are responsible for driving and following up projects against decided goals regarding time, resources, and economy. In the role, you may also participate in the procurement of consulting services and contracts, prepare task descriptions, and lead the design work up to a complete request for proposal. For planning and follow-up of projects, the project support system Antura is used.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who hold a civil or university engineer education of at least 180 ECTS credits with a focus on road and water, building technology, or possibly another focus that we assess as equally qualifying for the position.

You have worked for at least three years with buildings, facilities, or infrastructure. It is meritorious if you master CAD, and if you have worked with port or infrastructure projects, or alternatively, if you have focused your thesis on infrastructure.

You are a secure and stable person who enjoys working together with other people. You are meticulous and strive to maintain high quality in your work. Furthermore, you have a creative ability and are happy to share ideas. You are also open to trying new approaches in your work.

Furthermore, you master Swedish very well and English well in speech and writing. A good understanding of Danish is meritorious.

About the workplace

The Development Unit consists of approximately 12 employees who together lead, drive, and develop the administration's work with the city's property ownership. This includes, among other things, working strategically through the acquisition and sale of properties, so that land holdings long-term and sustainably match the city's needs. The unit is also responsible for ownership, management, operation, and development of Malmö's commercial port and its infrastructure, which includes the role of landlord in relation to the city's port operator. Other responsibilities lying with the unit include, among other things, responsibility for the city's land allocation policy. The Development Unit is one of five units on the Property and Development Department at the Property and Street Office.

The Property and Street Office is one of the 14 administrations in Malmö Municipality. The administration owns, develops, and manages the city's land on behalf of the Technical Committee and has the task of enabling a good city life for the people of Malmö and the city's business community.
